NHAI has started work on the preparation of DPR or Detailed Project Report for the construction of 75-KM long National Highway that will pass through Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad.
The decision to change the non-operational 43-km stretch of FNG or Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh into a National Highway Project was taken by the Central Road Transport and Highways Ministry last year. The part lying in the state of Haryana will be extended by NHAI, developing it into a 75-km National Highway.
The Noida Authority has completed 70 percent of the work on the 17-km long FNG Expressway stretch falling in Noida. Work on rest of the expressway is still in a limbo owing to many reasons. According to the CPE, Chief Project Engineer, Noida Authority, Mr. A K Goyal, NOC or No Objection Certificate has already been issued by the UP Government for the project. The work on DPR Preparation for the 75-km NH has already been started as per NHAI. Once the project gets completed, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Noida will experience seamless connectivity. There will be no need for the motorists to enter Delhi while traveling from Haryana to UP and vice-versa.
The DPR is expected to be ready by 2016-year end as per the officials, and the project is expected to take off by 2017 first half. According to the FNG Expressway DPR, the expressway was to connect Palwal in Haryana with NH-58, Ghaziabad, but due to a change in plan, the 75-km NH will now connect Sohna, Gurgaon with NH-58.
The project is expected to be highly beneficial for almost 2.2 lakh vehicles and prove to be an alternate route for commuters from Ghaziabad, Meerut, Greater Noida, Noida, Hapur and Gurgaon. Along with NH 24 expansion and Eastern Peripheral Expressway, this new highway will bring convenience to the lives of people living or plan to shift to these cities.
Considering the benefits of good connectivity like time-saving travelling, nearby convenience and price advancement of properties in the near future, current time seems to be great for buying a property at any of these places. The travel time is expected to be slashed to 1/3rd by using this highway, thereby easing traffic pressure on NH-58, NH-24 and NH-2 falling in Delhi Region. Presently, commuters from Meerut, Ghaziabad and Hapur have to take these ways to reach Agra and Faridabad.
Currently, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Noida are connected with Faridabad through NH-2 and NH-24 that are highly populated areas.
