The Ponty Chadha Foundation
An integral belief of the Wave Group is to give back and empower communities that it serves through its CSR arm, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF). The foundation has been initiated by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha, in the memory of her late husband, the erstwhile visionary chairman of the WAVE Group, Mr. Ponty Chadha. At present, the CSR activities address education, hunger and food security, community health and imparting skills and training for underprivileged youth.
In order to boost the potential of disadvantaged youths, PCF enables requisite skills training and employment through Sardar Kulwant Singh Chadha Skills Academy. The emphasis is to skill the youths in such a way so that they get employment and also improve entrepreneurship especially those coming from under privileged families, and hone them with requisite skills as well as suitable employment.
The institute has received affiliations and recognitions from PMKVY, Security Sector Skill Development Council (SSSDC), FICCI, National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC), Uttar Pradesh Private Security Act Regulatory Authority (UPPSARA) for training. With NSDC affiliation and allotment of numbers for training under PMKVY scheme the institute adheres to the central or state assigned targets for training the youth. However, there are no third parties trainings at the institute.
Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan
Spread in over 1 acre, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan is the largest rehabilitation charitable institution in India, providing free of cost rehabilitation services in a friendly and empathetic environment to over 800 beneficiaries with different disabilities. The school works for life skills and therapeutic intervention with education and vocational training of children with Intellectual disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing Impairment, Autism & multiple disabilities.
MBCN is accredited with National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) wherein students with learning difficulties can appear for secondary and higher secondary examination. Under its Swayam programme, the school runs a Sheltered Workshop in the premises where young adults make eco-friendly paper products under supervision of Vocational Trainers. The school also provides provided training in 16 different sports which are part of Special Olympics games & also train our young children in Young Athlete Program.
Taking initiatives for the differently-abled, MBCN has developed mobile base free application VAAKYA (as Augmentative alternative communication) which is immensely helpful for persons who are speech impaired, affected by autism, cerebral palsy and various other mental and physical conditions. Recognizing the efforts by the school, the school received the ‘National Award’ for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)-2018’ under the category – ‘Best Institution working for Cause of Persons with Disabilities’.
